Beloved across Canada and beyond, Duo Concertante are always welcome visitors to the Music Room. Their program includes one of the most popular violin sonatas of all, composed as a wedding present for Franck’s colleague, the violinist Eugène Ysaÿe, as well as a brilliant sonata by J.S. Bach, a specially commissioned work by Mexican-Canadian Luis Ramirez, and a richly expressive sonata by the 19th-century virtuoso Amanda Maier.
